Manchester United board have reached a stand-off over a transfer move for RB Leipzig defender Dayot Upamecano, UK Telegraph reports.
Man United manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, is keen to sign a fast centre-back this summer and believes Upamecano can partner with captain Harry Maguire at the Red Devils’ defence next season.
But some Man United board members have now raised concerns over a move for the Upamecano this summer.
There is debate at Old Trafford over Upamecano’s readiness for a move to the Premier League giants and if he is willing to coup with the English top-flight league.
Leipzig values Upamecano at around £60m but a clause in his contract means he can leave the club for around £40m next summer.
Upamecano helped Leipzig to reach the Champions League last-four last season.
The Frenchman has also drawn the interest of several big clubs in Europe in the past few weeks following his impressive display for the Bundesliga side last campaign.
