Dealing with Criticism III.

Our Foundational Scriptures are taken from Matthew 7:1-6 (AMP), “Do not judge and criticize and condemn others, so that you may not be judged and criticized and condemned yourselves. 2 For just as you judge and criticize and condemn others, you will be judged and criticized and condemned, and in accordance with the measure you [use to] deal out to others, it will be dealt out again to you. 3 Why do you stare from without at the very small particle that is in your brother’s eye but do not become aware of and consider the beam of timber that is in your own eye? 4 Or how can you say to your brother, Let me get the tiny particle out of your eye, when there is the beam of timber in your own eye? 5 You hypocrite, first get the beam of timber out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the tiny particle out of your brother’s eye. 6 Do not give that which is holy (the sacred thing) to the dogs, and do not throw your pearls before hogs, lest they trample upon them with their feet and turn and tear you in pieces.”

Beloved, I am continue from where I stopped yesterday on this Serial. Recall I am focusing on *destructive criticism.* Recall also, that I have discussed Miriam of Numbers 12; Korah, Abiram, Datan and 250 followers (Numbers 16:1- 35) and King Saul(I Samuel 18:6 -10). In all those cases, God seriously punished the defaulters which are warnings to us that we should not be associated with such. Yes, examples for endtime(I Corinthians 10:6. Are you still standing?

Beloved, in our FS, our Lord Jesus strictly warns that we *should not judge others.* We can look at that judgment from three perspectives namely: (i) Judgment by authorized persons or groups. The Judge who sits in a court room can judge. Civil court judgments are not forbidden. Titus 3:1, Romans 13. There is also Church discipline. The man that has the mantle of leadership can judge. Matthew 18:16, Tit. 3:10 and II Thessalonians 3:6. Are you still standing?

Beloved, (ii) Judgment in the form of discernment. Discernment is crucial for every Believer. You can discern the true Doctrine of Christ from the false teachings. As per I John 4:1(AMP), “Beloved, do not put faith in every spirit, but prove (test) the spirits to discover whether they proceed from God; for many false prophets have gone forth into the world.” That is an injunction you need to comply with. Beloved, again, as per Matthew 7:16-20(AMP), “You will fully recognize them by their fruits. Do people pick grapes from thorns, or figs from thistles? 17 Even so, every healthy (sound) tree bears good fruit [worthy of admiration], but the sickly (decaying, worthless) tree bears bad (worthless) fruit. 18 A good (healthy) tree cannot bear bad (worthless) fruit, nor can a bad (diseased) tree bear excellent fruit [worthy of admiration]. 19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and cast into the fire. 20 Therefore, you will fully know them by their fruits.” Here, Jesus tells us that by our fruits we will be known. Beloved, still on discernment, Jesus said in our FS Verse 6, “Do not give that which is holy (the sacred thing) to the dogs, and do not throw your pearls before hogs, lest they trample upon them with their feet and turn and tear you in pieces.” This is why you need the Holy Spirit to help you discern.

Beloved, the preceding paragaraphs, are to help us understand judgment that is right. Now the (iii) Judgment to condemn. The third kind of jugdment is to condemn and it comes under *destructive criticism.* When Mary Magdalene anointed Jesus with an expensive ointment, Judas Iscariot was quick to condemn her and in the process, equally condemned himself as a thief. He had a wrong motive in his condemnation. Meditate on our Memory verse. Are you still standing?

Beloved, as per John 12: 4-6 (AMP), “But Judas Iscariot, the one of His disciples who was about to betray Him, said, 5 Why was this perfume not sold for 300 denarii [a year’s wages for an ordinary workman] and that [money] given to the poor (the destitute)? 6 Now he did not say this because he cared for the poor but because he was a thief; and having the bag (the money box, the purse of the Twelve), he took for himself what was put into it [pilfering the collections].” Yes, Believers are not expected to have a critical spirit. *Prayer points*
1. Thank God for His Word and ask the Holy Spirit to expound it to you.
2. Have you sold-out your husband, your wife, your boss or whoever trusted you so much? Ask God to show you mercy. Remember Miriam and King Saul and repent.
3. Ask the Holy Spirit to help you see the good in other people or things they are doing.
4. Pray that as the earth opened and swallowed those that criticized Moses, the same earth will swallow all that have amassed weapon to slaughter Christians.

Thank God Who always answers all you pray for in Jesus most favourable name, Amen. *MEMORY VERSES.*” Talk no more so very proudly; let not arrogance go forth from your mouth, for the Lord is a God of knowledge, and by Him actions are weighed.” (I Samuel 2:3, AMP).
